Popovich began his head coaching career, when he took over for Bob Hill during the 1996-97 season. In 16 seasons on the bench in the Lone-Star state, the 62-year-old Popovich has led the Spurs to four NBA Championships.

He was asked by a reporter if he feels old having won that many games.

“I don’t feel as old as you look,” Popovich said. “Other than that, you get that number of wins, it does mean you’ve been hanging around for awhile. And that you’ve got good staff and good players and a good management team. So, we’ve all achieved 800 wins, I haven’t really.”

Popovich will try for number 801 this Monday night at Minnesota.
