According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has hired former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher as the organization’s new head coach.

After not coaching anywhere this past season, Fisher coached the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans for 16 seasons. During that span, Fisher went 142-120 and led the franchise to six playoff appearances, including a trip to the Super Bowl back in 1999. Despite his success with the Oilers/Titans, Fisher only had six winning seasons during his tenure (and five seasons going 8-8).

The Rams, however, haven’t won eight games in a single season since 2006, and haven’t had a winning record since 2003. The man Fisher is replacing, Steve Spagnuolo, went 10-38 in three seasons with the team. Fisher and the Rams have yet to work out the financial parameters of the contract.
