Stricker Wins Hyundai Tournament of Champions

Think Stock(KAPALUA, Hawaii) — Steve Stricker said aloha to the 2012 season in a big way, by winning the PGA Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
It was the kickoff to a new PGA Tour season and Stricker held on to a three-shot victory over Martin Laird, who closed with a 67.
“It feels really special and really good,” said Stricker who struggled up until the fourth round. “It was a tough last couple of days, the holes shrunk on me a little bit. I had a lot of patience and just hung in there. It feels really good to get a win early in the season like this.”
Stricker birdied his last hole for a 4-under-par 69 for his 12th career win, which moved him to No. 5 in the world ranking.
