(OKLAHOMA CITY) — According to Yahoo! Sports, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will be staying with the team for quite some time.
On Thursday, he signed a five-year, $80 million extension.
“They wanted to wrap him up,” said ESPN NBA insider Marc Stein. “Russell Westbrook wants to stay in Oklahoma City, that’s a big factor.”
Oklahoma City has the best record (12-3) in the Western Conference, with Westbrook averaging 20.5 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds. He was chosen as an All-Star for the first time last season.
