Big Storm Causes Baby Boom at PMC
Published at(POCATELLO) – Wednesday’s wind and rain caused plenty of damage to homes and businesses in eastern Idaho, but it also had an entirely different effect on expecting mothers. Local News 8 reports that Portneuf Medical Center was flooded with babies Wednesday and Thursday. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts suggest that a drop in barometric pressure could have an effect on labor. PMC officials say there were 15 births Wednesday, nearly double the regular amount.
