The Bruins acquired forward Brian Rolston and defenseman Mike Mottau from the New York Islanders in exchange for prospects Yannick Riendeau and Marc Cantin. The B’s also acquired defenseman Greg Zanon from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Steve Kampfer.

“We’ve added some veteran depth to our lineup,” Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli said. “We were satisfied with what we accomplished.”

Forward Brian Rolston, 39, previously played with the Bruins from 1999-2004. During his career, Rolston has scored 339 goals and tallied 407 assists.

Mike Mottau, 33, was just activated from the injury list Sunday, after missing 26 games with a concussion.

Greg Zanon, 31, was second in the NHL last year with 212 blocked shots. Steve Kampfer was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2007 draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He played in 48 games during his last two seasons with the Bruins.
