Bruins’ Peverley Out 4-6 Weeks
Published at(BOSTON) — Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley will be out 4-6 weeks with a third degree MCL sprain in his right knee, according to the team.
Peverley was hurt during a knee-on-knee collision with Canadiens defenseman Hal Gil during the Bruins 4-3 shootout win Wednesday night in Montreal.
“It’s unfortunate,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said. “He logs a lot of minutes during the game. With (Nathan) Horton out already, those are two guys that play a lot of minutes for us. It’s going to be a challenge for us. That’s just part of the game.”
Peverley has nine goals and 28 assists through 49 games this year.
