Calhoun has been on medical leave of absence since Feb. 3.  On Wednesday, the university said he will be evaluated on “a day-to-day basis.”

“I’m glad we have finally determined the best course of treatment to deal with the problem,” Calhoun said. “I’m looking forward to having the procedure done, hopefully recovering as quickly as possible, and putting it all in the past.”

Associate head coach George Blaney will continue to be the man in charge on the sidelines until Calhoun returns.

The Huskies’ (17-10) are 3-3 since the Hall of Fame coach has been out.
