(GREENBURGH, N.Y.) — New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony likely will not play on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks.
Anthony who has missed six consecutive games with a strained right groin has watched his team go 5-1 since being sidelined on Feb. 6.
“Melo, probably not,” coach Mike D’Antoni said Saturday. “And Monday, it’s close.”
Anthony was a part of practice on Saturday but did not participate in contact drills.
In the NBA shortened season, Anthony was averaging 22.3 points and 6.0 rebounds before his injury, and was selected by fans to start in the All-Star Game Feb. 26 in Orlando, Fla.
