County Campaign Policy Questioned

(RIGBY) – Jefferson County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Poole won’t be in office this week. KIDK reports that Poole was put on administrative leave after notifying Sheriff Blair Olsen that he’d be challenging him May’s primary elections. Officials say Poole has until March 9 to resign, or face termination. County policy prohibits candidates from working in the offices of incumbents if there is a reasonable chance of causing a disruption in the office. Poole says he still respects Olsen as his boss and as a personal friend, but would like to offer voters another choice.
