Giants Celebrate on Canyon of Heroes
Published at(NEW YORK) — The New York Giants on Tuesday got their second parade down the Canyon of Heroes in four years.
The parade began at 11 a.m. at Battery Place and Washington Street, before continuing north up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street. The parade ended at City Hall, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Giants great Michael Strahan presented the team with keys to the city.
“We do have the best fans in the world. There is a group of guys down in Dallas who call themselves ‘America’s Team’,” said Giants Chairman and Executive Vice President Steve Tisch. “Looking out at all of you and the millions of people in the streets today, we’re ‘America’s Dream.'”
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said he stressed all season to his team the goal of finishing. That is exactly what his team did in Super Bowl 46.
“All things are possible for those who believe, we always believed, we always knew we could get here,” said Coughlin. “It’s a great credit to the coaches who did a magnificent job and our players.”
