Jim Rogash/Getty Images(INDIANAPOLIS) —  The Patriots want Rob Gronkowski to play.

Still unsure of Gronk’s status for Sunday’s Super Bowl, the Patriots are looking into a special cleat that would help stabilize Gronkowski’s high left ankle sprain.

“I think we’re going over that tonight, so we will see with the training staff,” Gronkowski said.

Many people believe Gronkowski is the key to the Patriots fortunes in Super Bowl 46.

Gronk had a monster season breaking the record for most touchdowns and yards gained for a tight end in NFL history.
