Idaho Falls Bomb Squad Called to Blackfoot

(BLACKFOOT) – The Blackfoot Police Department responded to a call yesterday at about 4:18 p.m. to an apartment complex on South Broadway in Blackfoot in reference to a possible explosive device.  When officer’s arrived on the scene they found the device located in a vacant apartment.  The Idaho Falls bomb squad was contacted and later came to the scene.  The neighboring apartments were evacuated.  The device was made safe and is being examined by the bomb squad.  The exact makeup of the device is unknown at this time.  There is a current investigation into who made and left the device.
