(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho Falls is considering a revision to its run-off elections for city council seats. Though the city hasn’t faced a run-off election since voters passed a referendum in 2005, council members are now reconsidering. Local News 8 reports that Blackfoot’s recent decision to ditch run-off races is having an impact in Idaho Falls. City officials say the cost for a run-off between the top two candidates in any race could carry a price tag of up to $30,000. They plan to further discuss alternate options with the public in the future.
