Kentucky Cruises Past Florida, 78-58
Published at(LEXINGTON, Ky.) — Doron Lamb had a game to remember in front of a packed Rupp Arena on Tuesday night. He dropped in 18 points in their 78-58 win over Florida (19-5), but he wasn’t surprised of the outcome.
“I told somebody we were going to blow them out today. I just felt it coming,” said Lamb. “I knew it was coming for some reason. I don’t know why.”
Kentucky (24-1) put on a stellar effort and treated their fans to a 49th straight home win and matched their best start in league play since 2005.
With such a dominant performance even their opposing head coach Billy Donovan was impressed.
“The one thing I like about their team is I love their disposition on the floor,” said Donovan. “There’s a certain disposition you have to have and I’m not talking about arrogance or cockiness, but there’s like a focus level in terms of what really goes into winning at that level. There’s a mentality there.”
Freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the victory for the Wildcats.
