(LOS ANGELES) — NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a two-year contract worth $19 million, avoiding salary arbitration. He will receive $7.5 million this season and $11 million in 2013. along with a $500,000 salary bonus.
The 23-year-old lefthander went 21-5 last year with a 2.28 ERA and 248 strikeouts, winning the Triple Crown for pitchers.
The Dodgers drafted Kershaw out of Highland Park High School in Dallas with the seventh overall pick in the 2006 MLB draft.
