Lewisville Draft Horses Rise to Prominence
(LEWISVILLE) – Two local draft horses have recently rose to prominence on the national stage. Local News 8 reports that Nick Barney of Lewisville took second place with his horses, Buck and Andy, at the Western Stock Show in Denver last month. Barney, who maintains a full-time job as a nurse at EIRMC, said his horses managed to pull 15,500 pounds. Barney said he would have been happy to place in the top ten, and took home a $1,600 prize.
