The undrafted Lin came out of nowhere with a 25-point performance in a victory over the New Jersey Nets on Feb. 4th and went on to score 20 plus points the next two games before arriving on the national stage Friday night with a 38-point outburst against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Knicks won their fifth straight game Saturday night, with a 100-98 victory over the Timberwolves in Minnesota in which Lin scored 20 points, had eight assists and six rebounds while clinching the game with a free throw shot with 4.9 seconds left.

Lin, a graduate of Harvard, is the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese decent. He spent his rookie year last year with the Golden State Warriors, where he averaged 2.6 points a game. The Knicks claimed him off of waivers in late December from the Houston Rockets.
