(NEW YORK) — Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril said he may hold out from Lions offseason program and training camp if the team places the franchise tag on him instead of trying to work out a contract.
“There’s a lot of different possibilities, and that’s one of the possibilities, not showing up,” Avril told the Detroit Free Press. “But we don’t know. That’s not the plan, obviously. But there’s a lot of different possibilities, and that’s definitely one of them.”
The 25-year old Avril recorded a career high 11 sacks and forced six fumbles last season.
