(NEW YORK) — Madonna’s least favorite fan is on the loose. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding Robert Dewey Hoskins, who escaped a Los Angeles-area mental hospital last week. He was convicted of threatening to kill Madonna in 1996.
Police describe Hoskins, 54, as “highly psychotic” and extremely violent. In a statement released Thursday, officials said he should not be approached by members of the public and urged anyone who sees him to call authorities immediately.
Hoskins served a 10-year prison sentence for stalking and threatening the Material Girl after being convicted by a jury in 1996. She testified against the man, who was shot by her personal security after he jumped the fence of her Hollywood Hills home.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Friday that Hoskins now has a new target — Halle Berry. TMZ reports that he’s stalking and threatening to kill the Oscar-winning actress. She’s reportedly so afraid that she’s asked a judge to give her permission to move to France with her daughter Nahla and rumored fiancé Olivier Martinez.
Berry is embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Gabriel Aubry, the father of her child, who disapproves of her desire to move overseas.
