(ORLANDO) — Another day, another chapter in the Dwight Howard trade drama. Despite the All-Star center’s desire to be traded from the Magic, if you ask Magic owner Richard Devos, he doesn’t want Dwight going anywhere.
“I don’t want to trade him,” Devos said when referring to Howard’s trade status.
Howard is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, but Devos isn’t ruling out the possibility of bringing Howard back.
“You never give up, Devos said. “We’ve got a great talent, a great young man. He’s got to look at his options (and) what’s best for him and I have to tell him what I think is best for him. I’m selfish.”
The 26-year old Howard is averaging 20 points and a NBA leading 15.4 rebounds per game. He has won the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award the past three seasons.
