Kenseth beat out Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rousch Fenway teammate Greg Biffle for the victory.

“We had a really fast car and have fast cars in the past, and I figured out a way to mess it up,” Kenseth said. “I am glad it all worked out.”

The race, which was scheduled to start Sunday afternoon, was postponed twice due to rain before finally starting Monday at approximately 7 p.m. eastern standard time.

Even after the race started, it took quite a while to finish. There was a two-hour delay when Juan Pablo Montoya lost control of his car and hit a safety truck carrying fuel, triggering an explosion.

Kenseth and Biffle pulled ahead with 40 laps to go, when the race resumed.

The win was Kenseth’s second at the Daytona 500.
