Mavericks’ Cuban, Carlisle Both Fined By NBA
(NEW YORK) -- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been fined so many times during his tenure with the team that the NBA should consider putting his number on speed dial. The team's head coach, Rick Carlisle is also experiencing the wrath of the NBA.
Cuban was fined $75,000 for critcizing officials after the team's loss Wednesday night at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, Carlisle has been fined $35,000 for kicking a ball into the stands during the same game.
"Look, I haven't said a whole lot about the officiating in a long, long time, but I haven't seen it this bad in a long, long time," Cuban told ESPNDallas.com after the loss. "Guys miss calls; that's part of the game. You're not always going to have a great crew. Officials have go to learn that's part of the game."
"I think its fair," Carlisle said referring to his fine. "If you're responsible for a ball going into the stands, you're subject to a fine. I accept it and regret that situation happening, even though it was accidental and have got to move forward."
Since Cuban has taken over the Mavericks, he's fined a total of $1.89 million -- not that any of the fines will put a dent the billionaire's wallet.
