NBA Suspends Celtics Guard Rondo For Two Games
Published at(BOSTON) — The NBA has suspended Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo for two games without pay after he threw a ball at an official during Sunday’s 96-81 loss to the Detroit Pistons.
The incident occurred after the two-time NBA All-Star was angry a foul wasn’t called late in the third quarter. He proceeded to throw the ball at referee Sean Wright, which struck him in the chest. Rondo continued his tirade directed at Wright and was ejected from the game.
The 25-year-old Rondo will be eligible to return following the All-Star break on Tuesday, February 28th against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
