Proposed LDS Meetinghouse Stirs Controversy
Published at(VICTOR) – A proposed LDS meetinghouse is stirring up a controversy in the Teton Valley. Local News 8 reports that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wants to build a chapel just outside of Victor. County officials say most residents are in favor of the project, but many are upset about the church’s location. The building would also have a 70-foot steeple, well-above the county’s 30-foot limit. Commissioners say they’ll likely grant a conditional use permit.
