According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the team plans on placing the franchise tag on Jackson.

Jackson, who was picked in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Eagles in 2008, just finished up the last season of his rookie contract. Before the season began, he made it known that he wanted a significant raise and even held out of training camp at one point in protest. Jackson wound up playing the season without a new deal and at times struggled to show why he was a Pro Bowl player the season before.

If Jackson agrees to the franchise tag, he will agree to a one-year deal that will pay him around $9.4 million guaranteed. The Eagles have until March 5 to sign Jackson to a long-term deal. Philadelphia also has the option of trading Jackson as well. Last season Jackson caught 58 passes for 961 yards while also scoring four touchdowns.
