Senate Bill Could Grant Immunity to Canal Companies

(AMMON) – A bill currently up for consideration in the Idaho Senate would grant immunity to canal companies, should they overflow and flood homes nearby. On the very same day the House approved the bill, dozens of homes in Ammon and surrounding areas were flooded when a nearby canal overflowed with mountain runoff. House Bill 398 frees canal companies of liability, if weather or a third party causes flooding.
