Senate Passes Texting While Driving Bill
(BOISE) – The state Senate has approved a bill that would ban texting behind the wheel. On Tuesday, lawmakers voted 29-6 to place stricter limits on drivers using cell phones. Supporters say they wanted a bill that wasn’t too intrusive or unenforceable. The measure would make texting while driving punishable by an $85 fine, including court costs. The bill is now headed to the House for review.
