Stanford Wins HSBC Women’s Champions Tournament

Andrew Redington/Getty Images(SINGAPORE) — Angela Stanford won the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament Sunday, with a par putt on the third playoff hole. It’s her fifth career victory on the LPGA tour.
The 34 year old was tied at the end of 18 with Jenny Shin, Shanshan Feng and Choi No-yeon, forcing a four-way playoff. Feng was eliminated on the first playoff hole while Choi was ousted on the second playoff hole, leaving Stanford to battle with Shin on the third playoff hole.
Stanford secured the victory when she dropped a 3-foot putt while Shin’s par try rimmed out.
Stanford hasn’t won since 2009.
