(TAMPA, Fla.) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. The two-time Pro Bowler joined the Bucs in early November after he was placed on waivers by the New England Patriots.
“I appreciate Albert playing for us after some key injuries this past season,” Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said in a statement. “He was very professional and we now wish him all the best as he moves forward.”
Filling in for the injured Gerald McCoy, Haynesworth recorded 25 tackles in six games with Tampa Bay.
