Umenyiora Fined for Snubbing Media

Scott Boehm/Getty Images(INDIANAPOLIS) — New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora was fined $20,000 by the NFL for not showing up for the New York Giants’ media session Wednesday.
“I misunderstood the schedule,” Umenyiora said in a statement released by the team. “It won’t happen again, and I will be at tomorrow’s media session and available after the game. I apologize for any inconvenience my absence this morning may have caused.”
Osi has played well in the Giants three playoff games, tallying three sacks and eight tackles.
