Sources tell TMZ.com that Brown has tried to reach out to Bobbi Kristina by phone, and he attempted to see her in person on Tuesday.  However, his former mother-in-law, Cissy Houston, and other family members have allegedly prevented him from seeing his daughter.  The sources say Brown suspects Cissy has hated him for a long time.

TMZ also claims that family members have told Brown to not attend Houston’s funeral in New Jersey this Saturday.

Despite the speculation, Brown provided an update Tuesday on his daughter’s health.

“My daughter Bobbi-Kristina is doing much better,” he said in a statement. “We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi-Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.”
