Bieber made Kutcher feel old by joking he was three or four years old when the original version of Punk’d, starring Kutcher, aired. In truth, Punk’d aired from 2003-2007, concluding when Bieber was in his early teens.

Bieber said he’s always been a prankster, so Punk’d was a natural fit for him. He pulls a fast one on Taylor Swift in the premiere episode, pretending that she ruined a wedding staged on a boat by setting off fireworks. He told Jimmy Kimmel, “She’s such a sweet girl that I wanted to make her cry.”

Kutcher recalled discovering Bieber on Twitter and YouTube, before he became a megastar. He said his producing partner tipped him off that Bieber was eager to re-launch Punk’d, and Kutcher readily agreed.

The new version of Punk’d, premiering March 29, will feature a series of hosts.
