(LOS ANGELES) — Ashton Kutcher is headed to infinity and beyond. Or something like that.
British mogul Richard Branson announced Monday on his blog that the Two and a Half Men actor is the 500th customer to book a spot on one of his Virgin Galactic airline flights. Virgin Galactic promises to become the first commercial airline to provide suborbital spaceflights.
Branson wrote on his blog, “I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself.”
The flight does not come cheap — a ticket costs $200,000. Commercial service isn’t expected to begin until 2013 or 2014.
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Katy Perry are among the other celebrities who’ve reportedly signed up for a flight.
