Blue Jays Agree To New Contract With McGowan

Toronto Blue Jays/MLB(DUNEDIN, Fla.) -- The Toronto Blue Jays and righthanded starting pitcher Dustin McGowan have agreed to a three-year contract worth $4.1 million.

The 30-year-old McGowan will receive his original salary of $600,000 this season as well as $1.5 million in 2013 and 2014. The Blue Jays have a team option in 2015 for $4 million with a buyout of $500,000.

McGowan missed the entire 2009 and 2010 seasons after undergoing two shoulder operations. He returned late last year, going 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA in five games.

The Blue Jays drafted McGowan in 2000.
