Rivers is the son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, and he may have a chance to play for his father as Rivers is projected as a first-round pick. He will become just the fourth player under Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski to be “one and done,” the others being Corey Maggette, Luol Deng and last year’s number one overall draft pick, Kyrie Irving.

Under the new NCAA rules, Rivers has until April 10 to make his final decision before comitting to the NBA or Duke next season. During his freshman season at Duke, Rivers averaged 15.4 points and 3.4 assists per game.

No matter how successful Rivers winds up being in the pros, he forever etched his name in Duke history when he nailed a buzzer-beating 3-point shot during the team’s first game against heated rival North Carolina to win the game.
