According to The Los Angeles Times, he was found dead at his home in L.A. Saturday after recently returning from China, where he had been performing.  Bridges was 48.

He appears to have died of natural causes.  An autopsy is planned.

Bridges was a regular on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno thanks to his impression of Bush, for which he wore prosthetics to look the part.  In 2006, he appeared alongside President Bush at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Bridges’ act also included impersonations of Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger.  He was scheduled to perform at the Indian Wells Rotary Club in Indian Wells, Calif., next week.

A statement on his website reads, “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Bridges. His passing comes as a shock to all of us…Steve brought joy and laughter to millions and was a great inspiration to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed.”
