Grady Sizemore has Back Surgery, To Miss 8-12 Weeks
Published at(CLEVELAND) — Cleveland Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore is headed to the disabled list again. The team announced Sizemore had lower back surgery Thursday, and is expected to miss the next 8-12 weeks of the season.
The 29-year old Sizemore was considered by many as an up and coming star, but the past three seasons he has dealt with a variety of injuries that have kept him off the field.
The Indians re-signed Sizemore in November to a one-year $5 million dollar contract that with incentives could be worth as much as $9 million dollars.
Sizemore has now had five operations in the last two years.
