The team went on to hand the Clippers (26-21) a 97-90 loss as well.

“There was a lot of emotions going through my head,” Paul said. “But as soon as they threw the ball up, all of that was out the window.”

Chris Kaman led the Hornets (12-35) scoring 20 points and guard Jarrett Jack along with forward Jason Smith provided 17 points apiece.

“We just wanted to come out there and play aggressive, no matter if they got a dunk,” Smith said. “They’re going to get highlight dunks and highlight this and highlight that.”

Chris Paul wound up with 16 and Blake Griffin chipped in with 21 in the loss for the Clippers.

New Orleans snapped a five-game home losing streak with the win.
