Idaho Lawmaker Sparks Anger with Abortion Comments

(BOISE) – Republican Sen. Chuck Winder has sparked a controversy with several women’s groups who claim some of his comments about a new abortion bill were offensive.  Winder suggested on the Senate floor earlier this week that doctors should ask women claiming they were raped whether their pregnancy occurred within “normal relations” in marriage.  Winder says he didn’t intend to question the truthfulness of rape victims, but rather that women should work with their doctors to determine if a fetus resulted from rape or from consensual relations.
