Iowa State sent Connecticut home after a 77-64 smack down in Louisville.  Chris Allen led the way for the Cyclones with 20 points.

“We wanted to attack the boards more and whatever three’s we got, we took,” Allen said. “At the end of the day, we were trying to get it in, get rebounds and do all the little stuff.”

For Jim Calhoun and his players, they’ll look to rebuild in the offseason and push towards a 2014 March Madness run.

“I’m as surprised as anybody, clearly, I imagine our players are too,” said Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun.  “Iowa State team showed up at a different speed, at a different level than what we played.”

Calhoun’s team lost 11 of it’s final 16 games to end their season.
