IRS Warns of Scam

(IDAHO FALLS) – The Internal Revenue Service is warning the public of bogus schemes regarding their tax returns. Most of the scams appear to be targeting senior citizens. The IRS says scammers are claiming to offer huge refunds through the American Opportunity Tax Credit, but won’t assist you unless you pay a large fee upfront. The tax credit can only legally be filed by those paying for a college education.
