Jon Hamm Clarifies Kim Kardashian Comment

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Jon Hamm didn’t intend for his comments about Kim Kardashian to be a personal attack on the reality TV star.
Referring to Kardashian and fellow socialite Paris Hilton, Hamm told the British edition of Elle magazine that “stupidity is certainly celebrated” and that “being…[an] idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”
Kardashian tweeted this week that she thought Hamm’s jab at her was “careless.”
Hamm now says his remarks were taken out of context. He tells Access Hollywood, “I think that she’s — I’ve never met her. I would never say anything personal about anyone that I have not met.”
The Mad Men actor also addressed the controversy with E! News, saying, “What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right.”
