Louisville Defeats Florida To Advance To Final Four

Jamie Squire Getty Images(PHOENIX) — (4) Louisville (30-9) defeated (7) Florida (26-11), 72-68 in the West Regions Elite Eight to advance to the Final Four. Freshman forward Chane Behanan hit the go-ahead basket for the Cardinals with 1:06 left in the game.
The Gators took an eight point lead into the second-half, but Louisville put their foot on the gas pedal and outscored Florida 23-8 over the final ten minutes of the contest.
“I never wanted a Final Four more than for these guys,” Louisville head coach Rick Pitino said of his players. “They give me every single thing they have in their bodies and they are just the most incredible group to coach.”
Sophomore guard Russ Smith led the way for Louisville with 19 points.
