Louisville Wins Big East Championship

Chris Trotman/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Louisville (26-9) won its second Big East championship Saturday night, knocking off Cincinnati (24-10), 50-44, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Senior guard Chris Smith scored 15 points while senior forward Kyle Kuric contributed 13, as the Cardinals held off a late run by the Bearcats to secure their sixth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
Junior guard Cashmere Wright had a team high 16 points for Cincinnati.
Louisville junior guard Peyton Siva was named tournament MVP.
