Leading the way is Kentucky, who earned the overall number one seed in the South Region after posting a 32-2 record during the season. Michigan State is the number one seed in the West Region after a 27-7 record during the season. The third number one seed was rewarded to Syracuse after their 31-2 record and will play in the East Region. The fourth and final number one seed was handed to North Carolina who went 29-5 during the season and will play in the Midwest Region.

Duke, Missouri, Ohio State, and Kansas rounded out the number two seeds. The Big East led the way with nine teams in the tournament. The Big-10 and Big-12 have six teams in the tournament.

Just like every year, there are some “bubble teams” who find themselves on the outside looking in. Among the notable omissions from the tournament were Drexel (27-6), Washington (21-10), Oral Roberts (27-6), and Nevada (24-6).
