(CHAPEL HILL, N.C.) — Saying goodbye to Tobacco Road: North Carolina sophomore forward Harrison Barnes, junior forward John Henson and sophomore point guard Kendall Marshall have announced that they will be entering this year’s NBA draft.
The move, along with the upcoming graduation of seven-foot forward Tyler Zeller, will leave the Tar Heels without four-fifths of their starting lineup from this year’s NCAA Tournament.
“It’s a great day for three youngsters who are taking another step toward their ultimate goal of playing professional basketball,” Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams said in a statement. “On a very small stage, it’s a sad day for me because I won’t get to coach them again. All Tar Heel fans will miss them greatly, as well.”
The NBA draft is scheduled to take place June 28th in Newark, New Jersey.
