(NEW YORK) — Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Whitney Houston’s daughter and other family members earned her cable network its highest-ever ratings.
Sunday’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, featuring the first interview with 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown since the death of her mother last month, was seen by 3.5 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It was a much bigger audience than Winfrey’s network, OWN, typically draws. Its most-watched telecast before Sunday was a January episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter with pastor Joel Osteen that attracted 1.6 million viewers. OWN launched in early 2011.
In addition to Bobbi Kristina, Winfrey spoke with Whitney Houston’s manager and sister-in-law, Patricia Houston, and the singer’s brother, Gary Houston.
