Police: Rx Drug Addicts Look to Heroin

(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho State Police say a new drug epidemic is making its way to southeast Idaho. Local News 8 reports that heroin is becoming more and more prevalent as an alternative to prescription drug addicts. Lt. Steve Davis says tougher regulations on prescription pain medications like Oxycontin and Vicodin has many users turning to the highly addictive drug. Last week’s heroin bust at Marsh Valley High School is also raising eyebrows fro local parents. Last night there was a community meeting on the incident held at the high school.
