Report: Britney Spears Offered $10 Million to Join ‘The X Factor’

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — An offer is on the table for Britney Spears to join The X Factor.
Deadline.com reports Spears has received a $10 million offer to fill one of the vacant judges’ slots on the Fox singing competition. Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid will return for season two this fall without former panelists Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter says Spears’ fiancé, Jason Trawick, is negotiating the contract, and that it could be finalized as soon as next week.
But maybe it’s not that cut and dry. E! News claims Spears is holding out for $16 million.
To put Spears’ reported offer in perspective, Jennifer Lopez reportedly earned $12 million last year for her first season on American Idol, and she’s getting approximately $20 million this season.
